Mike Fitzsimmons, Chief Executive Officer
As Delivery Agent, Inc.’s founder and CEO, Mike Fitzsimmons has developed and commercialized the only multi-media platform that connects viewers with products seen on and related to their favorite television shows, movies, sports, and music videos. Under his leadership, Delivery Agent has become the leader in shopping-enabled entertainment.
Prior to founding Delivery Agent, Mr. Fitzsimmons led Product Marketing and Business Development for Something Now, Inc., which was acquired by CNET Networks in 2001. At Something Now, Mr. Fitzsimmons developed the industry’s first synchronized e-commerce application that enabled real-time promotion of related consumer electronics products and services online.
Before his work at Something Now, Mr. Fitzsimmons was a member of Circuit City Stores, Inc. Corporate Development and Direct Response Divisions, where his group brought in annual revenue in excess of $550 million. Additionally, he managed the company’s start-up initiatives for their catalog, direct-mail and outbound call centers. Other Circuit City businesses from which Mr. Fitzsimmons has added to his product marketing and management expertise include: Circuitcity.com, CarMax, Circuit City Direct and DIVX.
As a recognized expert on e-commerce and convergence, Mr. Fitzsimmons has been featured in Forbes, Reuters, Hollywood Reporter, Wall Street Journal, CNN/Money, Los Angeles Business Journal, BBC, E-Commerce Times and Variety and spoken at premiere industry events including The Media and Entertainment Forum, The Aspen Institute, Ad Tech and OnHollywood. Under Mr. Fitzsimmons’ leadership, Delivery Agent was named the No. 1 Privately Held Media Company of 2008 by Inc. magazine, ranked third on Deloitte & Touche’s Technology Fast 50 for Silicon Valley, named a Hot 100 company by Entrepreneur magazine, and ranked an OnHollywood Top 100 Private Company by AlwaysOn. He currently serves on advisory boards for Jumpstart (www.jstart.org) and Loudmouth Golf.
A native of Virginia, Mr. Fitzsimmons is a graduate of Hampden Sydney College with a degree in Economics.
Peter Lai, President & Chief Operating Officer
Peter Lai, 26-year retail veteran, serves as Delivery Agent’s President and Chief Operating Officer responsible for the company’s global operation. Mr. Lai spent his entire professional career focusing on merchandise and the customer – from front end store merchandising to back end operation excellence and everything in between. Prior to joining Delivery Agent, Mr. Lai spent seven years at Amazon in key positions for both their retail and seller business units including acting as General Manager of their retail clothing and jewelry business.
Prior to Amazon, Mr. Lai held executive positions with two global companies – The Body Shop and Duty Free Shoppers. His experience included leadership roles in strategic planning, merchandising and supply chain functions.
Mr. Lai is a native of Hong Kong and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Kelyn Brannon, Chief Financial Officer
Kelyn Brannon, whose experience spans 20 years in financial services, including as CFO of Amazon’s international division, is responsible for executing Delivery Agent’s financial strategy.
Prior to joining Delivery Agent, Brannon served as EVP and CFO of Calix, a communications equipment supplier, where she was responsible for finance, tax, investor relations, legal, human resources and information technology and facilities. Under Brannon’s leadership, the company’s revenue grew substantially, and she raised $100 million in debt and equity financing for Calix and took the company public in March 2010. She also helped lead the team responsible for completing the acquisition of a competitor and opening the company’s China Development Center.
Prior to Calix, Brannon was EVP and CFO of Calypso Technology, a high-growth global financial software and services company. Previously, she was CFO at Arzoon, and CEO, president and a board member of Studio Systems Inc. (formerly Creative Planet). She also served as the chief accounting officer, vice president of finance, and also CFO of Amazon’s international division. In addition, Brannon has held senior financial positions at Sun Microsystems, Lexmark International, and Ernst & Young. Brannon is a Certified Public Accountant, holds a bachelor’s in political science from Murray State University, Kentucky, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Kelyn Brannon is also on the Board of Music in Schools Today (MUST), a California nonprofit that develops music education programs to improve student achievement, attendance, self-esteem, and build life skills. MUST seeks to improve the education and quality of life for children, especially at-risk youth in impoverished areas.
David Rudnick, Chief Technology Officer
David Rudnick spent the last 16 years trying to make watching television more interesting. From pioneering time shifted television (years before TiVo and VOD) to the early designs of Electronic Program Guides and the latest developments in Advanced Television applications, Rudnick has honed his skills on delivering and interpreting a better viewer experience.
Mr. Rudnick founded The Band in 2006, with the idea of making Advanced Television applications a better experience for advertisers, content developers and service providers. In 2010 Rudnick, and founding partner Pat Ivers sold The Band to Delivery Agent.
Prior, Mr. Rudnick has worked at senior levels in the development and implementation of advanced television with companies such as TMG, Discovery Networks, TV Guide, TCI and Liberty Media Companies. Rudnick also holds several patents in advanced television navigation and guidance.
Kim Marder, Chief Media Officer
Kim Marder, a founding member of Delivery Agent, has played an instrumental role in the strategic development of the company since its inception.
Former Vice President of Marketing at America Online, Ms. Marder brings over seventeen years of marketing and entertainment experience to Delivery Agent. At AOL, Ms. Marder supervised a team of over one hundred marketing and production people that, under her leadership, were responsible for developing and executing the marketing and branding strategy for AOL’s e-commerce gaming brand.
Prior to joining AOL, Ms. Marder served as Vice President of Marketing for Theatrix Interactive, a San Francisco based developer and publisher of award-winning children’s interactive products. Ms. Marder was instrumental in creating and executing the marketing and brand strategy that lead to high-visibility deals with Procter & Gamble, EMI Music, United Artists Theatres and others.
Ms. Marder also held various executive positions in marketing with Tribune’s new media division, where she oversaw the marketing strategy for the release of over one hundred interactive products. Under Ms. Marder’s direction, press from leading consumer and business publications as well as deals with top retailers, ad agencies and consumer products companies propelled the company’s growth.
Prior to joining Tribune, Ms. Marder spent seven years with Sony Pictures Entertainment, where she was responsible for developing marketing programs and promotional campaigns to support the release of Columbia Pictures and TriStar Pictures feature films and home entertainment. Ms. Marder was instrumental in pitching, closing and executing multi-million dollar national campaigns with Nestle, American Airlines, Sprint and others.
Ms. Marder is a native of New York and graduated from NYU with a BA is Journalism and Political Science.
Pat Ivers, Executive Vice President, Advertising Sales
Pat Ivers knocked out the better part of the last two decades trying to make advertising a better experience for advertisers. Ivers began his career in the Agency business where he worked with clients in Banking, Grocery, Fast Food and Tourism. In 1996, Ivers broadened perspective by joining the cable movement where he would spend the next decade running advertising Sales organizations in both cable and satellite. Ivers’ agency/media sales experience gavehim conviction to drive the evolution of both the present agency and media sales models.
Mr. Ivers founded The Band in 2006, with the idea of making Advanced Television applications a better experience for advertisers, content developers and service providers. In 2010 Ivers, and founding partner David Rudnick sold The Band to Delivery Agent.
Prior to putting The Band together, Ivers was recently President of Turner Advertising Group and Vice President; General Manager of the Colorado Region for Comcast Spotlight. In addition, Ivers’ agency work encompassed senior level account management for local, regional and national accounts, while his media sales experience canvassed oversight of cable and satellite operations for TCI, AT&T Broadband, Comcast Spotlight and EchoStar (via TMG).
Jeff Combs, Senior Vice President, E-Commerce
Jeff Combs leads web, mobile and iTV commerce solutions for Delivery Agent’s portfolio of more than 40 entertainment and media clients. With the company since 2006, Jeff and team are responsible for the day-to-day management and growth of each Delivery Agent client as well as portfolio expansion through new client acquisitions. Working closely with all arms of the Delivery Agent organization, Jeff brings new and our existing partners robust turn-key commerce solutions including: web and mobile design, development and optimization, merchandise strategy and product development, marketing and reporting. All solutions are executed with a goal toward revenue acceleration.
Prior to Delivery Agent, Mr. Combs led business development efforts for a leading e-commerce and technology services providers, working with the major consumer goods brands and media companies. Jeff is a native of Minneapolis, MN, and a graduate from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN, with a degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurship.
Mark Smith, General Counsel
Prior to joining Delivery Agent, Mr. Smith was the General Counsel for Structure Consulting Group, LLC, a company that provides both software and consulting services to energy trading companies. While at Structure, Mr. Smith managed the company’s legal affairs for its US and UK operations.
Prior to his work at Structure, Mr. Smith was corporate counsel for Sapient Corporation where he was responsible for the legal affairs of business units in the US and UK. Before joining Sapient, Mr. Smith was counsel for Human Code, Inc., a privately-held developer of rich media and broadband applications for entertainment and e-learning companies, where he was responsible for and managed the legal affairs of the company, including seeing the company through its acquisition by Sapient Corporation.
Mr. Smith also served as a law clerk to the Honorable W. Royal Furgeson, United States District Judge for the Western District of Texas.
A native of El Paso, Texas, Mr. Smith is a graduate of Tarleton State University with a degree in Computer Information Systems, and has a J.D. from The Ohio State University.
Brian Joe, Vice President, Engineering
Brian Joe oversees Delivery Agent’s engineering and technology endeavors. He brings over twelve years of experience in building robust ecommerce systems, enterprise web applications, data integration frameworks, and multi-tiered server architectures in both business-to-business and direct-to-consumer service models. Since March 2003, he has molded the Delivery Agent Commerce Platform into the leading turnkey multi-channel commerce solution powering interactive shopping experiences and contextual advertising for entertainment companies, accessible via the web as well as emerging media channels, including mobile, cable/satellite set-top box, Blu-ray player, and IVR. He also developed patent-pending technology for cataloging products appearing on Hollywood sets for subsequent advertising and merchandising to media consumers, allowing television viewers to literally shop the show while watching their favorite sitcom or drama.
Prior to joining Delivery Agent, Mr. Joe led technical operations and systems integration efforts for Escalate Retail and WeddingChannel.com, where he managed large-scale integrations and site builds for Federated Department Stores, Restoration Hardware, Williams-Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, Gump’s, Tiffany, REI, World Wrestling Entertainment, Newline Cinema, Warner Bros., and eLuxury.com among others.
A native of Memphis, TN, Mr. Joe graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics from Duke University.
